in all honesty, he could agree that things were very outdated in terms of how the clave handled downworlders. some days he knew that they needed to fix things, they needed for it to be more of a partnership and less of whatever it was they were calling it. but to do that would require change and not just at the institute, but at the clave, as well. and unfortunately, he knew that change like that wouldn’t come easy. everyone seemed to be content with the way things were handled and jace knew that replacing everyone in idris would be the only way to change. “i KNOW but there’s not much that can be done,” he carefully explained, trying not to make things worse. they’d already gotten on each other’s nerves and pushing the clave’s words time and time again wasn’t going to make things better.

“don’t hear about too many SOLO wolves in the city.” it was interesting to say the least. he figured this one was either from another pack or luke had decided not to let them know there was a new one. eventually the institute found out but finding out this one was on his own? it wasn’t something he’d been expecting to hear. but he also wasn’t going to push it. as long as he followed the accords jace wasn’t going worry too much about it. not when he had bigger things to worry about. demon attacks were on the rise and a solo wolf wasn’t anything they needed to focus their attention on. “don’t be surprised if someone else questions you about it. most of us deal with the brooklyn pack.”

as much as this one had annoyed him in the end he wasn’t going to just continue to harass him. though something told him this wouldn’t be the last time they’d run into each other. if he was going to stay in the city they would most likely run into each other more than a few times. at least they wouldn’t have to have this particular conversation again. and he’d make a point of telling the others to keep an eye on him. loners tended to cause more trouble than those with a pack and while it wouldn’t be his priority he knew the others might want to harass him for the hell of it. “mundanes don’t harass downworlders. they tend to mind their own business.” the same couldn’t be said for the other downworlders. jace did hope, though, if something happened this one would let him know. “i don’t look like i’m sucking on a lemon.” annoyance changed into confusion and he was curious as to what the hell the other was talking about. “look, if you play nice everyone else will, too. we’d rather not come after you for something that could’ve been avoided.”

❛  ─ and if they do. trust that i let them find me. like i said, i’ve been here a while… right under your pretty little nose.  ❜  he taunts from his own vantage point. that would be the only thing he would add to that particular part of the conversation, seeing as, they’d gone over this already. and honestly, he wasn’t one to MENCE words. not with someone who seemed to think that his words had any effect on him. in all honesty, they wouldn’t have to look too hard in new york. the stark family was widely known, or more importantly tony ( the one and only ironman was, not so much, his bastard offspring ).

at the furthered statement about mundanes, and their complete involvement or rather uninvolvement, logan scoffs loudly ; a darkened laugh falling past his lips.  ❛  oh yeah? tell that to my mother. oh that’s right, you can’t, because your precious MUNDANES, the humans, hunters, whatever you want to call them, made sure of that. but that’s cute, continue acting like they’re harmless individuals that need protecting.  ❜  he snaps rather vehemently, despite himself. the wolf didn’t like talkng about her, even after all these years, it’s too fresh of a wound in his mind ( just as it always would be ).

❛  ─  whatever. i’m sure i’ll see you around, jace.  ❜  that was the last parting line he gave, before vanishing completely. like he had said, he had places to be, and a rather impatient father who was expecting him to make an appearance at one of the COUNTLESS charity events he was hosting. pesky family obligations.

                     ─ END.
